Homemade Brown Sugar: Light or Dark

Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar

1–2 tablespoons molasses (unsulphured)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add sugar and molasses (1 tablespoon for light, 2 for dark).
  2. Stir with a fork or whisk until fully combined and no clumps remain.
  3. Transfer to an airtight container. Use immediately or store for later.

Notes

If your homemade brown sugar hardens, place a slice of bread in the container for a few hours to help soften it again.
